A pharmacist from Bangkok has been charged with selling fake erectile dysfunction pills to an unknown number of people, authorities said on Saturday.
Police arrested a local pharmacist on charges of selling counterfeit erectile dysfunction pills.
They seized the pills from a box containing 100 fake erectile dysfunction pills and 100 genuine Viagra pills, they said.
They said they had sent out an e-mail to their friends and relatives in Bangkok. They were told they would be taking the pills to treat erectile dysfunction.
They claimed that the pills were fake, which they described as being "like the real thing."
The pharmacist told police that they had sent the pills to the address of an unknown number of people, but did not give their name, and did not mention the name of their friends or relatives.
He said they had been given money by the Thai government and had asked for a "real" Viagra tablet.
A lawyer for the victim told TOI that the lawyer representing the man said the victim had received the fake pills, and that they had not paid their rent.
The man was also arrested on suspicion of "falsity", the man said.
Police said the man had tried to purchase the pills, and had failed to get them in time.
"He had never had a sexual encounter with anybody in the city," a police statement said.
A police statement said the man's wife, who was not named, had been with the man for a few months.
Police also said the man was in the process of selling the pills.

The police said that the man had been working as a pharmacist in Bangkok for years, and had been selling fake erectile dysfunction pills to the public.
The man was charged with one count of selling counterfeit erectile dysfunction pills to an unknown number of people and one count of selling counterfeit erectile dysfunction pills to an unknown number of people.
The investigation is still under ongoing.
The police said that at the time of the arrest, there were two pills that the man was selling for the common man in Thailand.
Paxi Tumor, owner of Paxi Pharmacy, told TOI: "The man was selling the counterfeit erectile dysfunction pills, but didn't have any sexual experience with the man. It is not known if the man was having any sexual encounters with the man."According to the arrest report, the man was arrested at his home in Kedex Road, Chiang Mai City, and has been in contact with the police on several occasions, the report said.
In February, a man was arrested on suspicion of selling fake erectile dysfunction pills and other drugs, he said.
The police said that the man was involved in a long-running scam, the police said.
The police said that the man is being held at the National Hospital in Bangkok, the investigation is still under ongoing.
